Community in Color-A Public Health Art Contest
Public health is everywhere—where we live, learn, and connect. Create art that shows what makes your community healthy and strong.
Information on how to submit your original piece for the Art Contest
Submit any style, any medium!
(Drawing/Painting, Photography, Digital Art, Sculpture/3D, Writing, or other)
Who can enter:
- K-12 students (public, private or homeschooled) in Chelan or Douglas County
- Wenatchee Valley College student
Students may submit one original piece of art in any of these formats:
2D Visual Art
Drawing, painting, sketching, illustration, mixed media
Photography & Digital Art
Photography, digital illustration, graphic design
Written & Literary Art
Poems, short writing, visual poetry, and word-based art
3D Art
Sculpture, constructed or built pieces, welded art, assemblage
To keep our public display safe:
- No sharp edges or unstable parts
- Must stand or be displayed securely
- Must fit within available space
The Health District may decline unsafe or oversized pieces

Monday-Thursday: 9:00AM -5:00PM
Friday: 9:00AM-12:00PM
You must attach the Community in Color-Art Submission Form to your art piece.

Original Work:
- All entries must be created by the student
- Do not copy or closely recreate another artist’s work
Public Display: Public Art Showing
Friday, May 1st, 4:00PM-6:00PM
- Winners announced: May 4-8, 2026
The artwork will be exhibited at the CDHD office as well as in select public community spaces
